A Full Day at Turtle Bay with Nothing to Do!

This is being written on Friday........and the good news is that we are already forgotten what we did yesterday (we must be really relaxing!).  The bad news is that we are struggling to remember what to write in the blog.  Actually, with a little concentration it comes back into focus.

  • Believe it or not I got phone calls at 3:00 and 6:00 AM.  The first one did not wake us up, but the second one did.  I ended up needing to join a ZOOM call at 7:00.  Everything was fine and the folks on the call really appreciated my effort!  They were also jealous when I turned the camera out the sliding doors!
  • With that as the start of the day, we headed down to the pool at about 7:45.  Again, we were the only ones there.  We also got to use the quiet hot tub all by ourselves.  It was a beautiful morning.
  • We headed back to the room to shower and dress.......then made it down to breakfast at about 9:45.  We got a nice table and ate way too much food.  With the large crowds due to February school vacation, they are only offering a buffet breakfast.  It is tough not to   overdue it! After breakfast we took another walk around the Turtle Bay point.  Amazing waves today.
  • We rested in the room for a while and then got our car and drove over to the Kuilima Farm which is close by and owned by the hotel.  It is a fun place with a couple of fruit stands, shaved ice and gift shops.  After that we drove back to the Golf Clubhouse for lunch on the terrace.  We have done this a couple of times previously and enjoy the atmosphere here.......and it is never crowded.  We shared a huge salad as our nod to cutting back on the carbs and calories!
  • The rest of the afternoon was a bit lazy.  Naps have become a vital part of our exercise regime.  At some point we stirred and showered and I had another bath.  The hot water nearly put me back to sleep!
  • At around 6:00 we headed down to the bar for our ritual sunset drink(s)!  It was another amazing show of colors as the sun went down. The live music in the lobby made it even more fun.
  • We had a dinner reservation at 7:00 at Roy's Beach House.  This is the property's upscale fish restaurant.  We ended up talking ourselves into the 5 course tasting menu and a bottle of wine.  Let's just say that it was delicious.......but probably not a prudent choice for our stomachs.  An drea took the brunt of it during the night!
  • Things are working their way back to normal today!
